Which exam is easy to prepare BANK or SSC?

It is generally observed that the candidates who are aspiring for BANK exams also apply for SSC Exams too.

Preparing simultaneously for both the exams one must focus on each and every topic and make the strategy effective.

There are four subjects which need to be focused as they carry equal marks and weightage in the exam. In bank exams there is sectional cut off; therefore one cannot ignore any of the subjects.
Let us discuss the strategy to be adopted for all the subjects:
  1. Quantitative Aptitude
The topics asked in IBPS PO exam are DI, Average, Square and Cube Roots, Percentage, Approximation, etc. In SSC CGL (Pre and Mains), generally Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry to Trigonometry are covered. There is a variation in the difficulty level also in both the exams.
  1. Study plan
It should be such that you should be able to make your fundamentals strong. Learn and understand first and then practice as many questions as you can to master them. Although the pattern of both the exams is different so choose which exam you want to appear first and practice the previous year exam.
  1. English Language
In Bank exams most of the questions are comprehension based such as reading comprehension, jumbled sentences, Cloze test, fill in the blanks where as In SSC CGL exam weightage is given to the grammar therefore you need to understand and learn the basics of English language.
  1. Study Plan
To enhance the ability of English language it is better to develop the habit of reading newspapers, magazines, novels, journals, biographies. Choose the area of interest and choose the topic to read so that you feel informed about the topic rather than just reading it.
Reading enhances your comprehension skills, boosts vocabulary count and develops logical thinking. Maintain the habit of reading to bring effective perfection in English language.
  1. Logical Reasoning
In bank exams the difficulty level is higher for reasoning section, it covers topics like Seating arrangements, Syllogism, Puzzles, Sequential Output Tracing, etc will test your spirit and you need to be sharp enough while solving the same. In SSC CGL Exam the level of questions is easy as compared to bank exams, topics are almost the same.
  1. Study plan
For bank exams one needs to practice as much as possible as it covers complex questions.  It needs lot of topics with various complex questions to be covered. For SSC CGL Exam there is a need to practice but even less of practice will also serve the purpose.
  1. General Awareness/Studies
This section is different in both the exams. In bank the questions are based on banking awareness, commerce and economics where as in SSC Exam the topics covered are History, Geography, Polity, Science, General Knowledge and current affairs of last six months.
  1. Study Plan
For this section one should be focused to cover the relevant topics rather than overburdening yourself. Although topics are different, yet it needs full concentration as you need to retain till the examination day.
For bank exam you should have a special focus on banking awareness and economics. Current affairs of last six months should be covered related to economics and business awareness.
Develop the habit of reading newspaper with a special focus on current affairs such as who’s who, sports, recent changes and any developments or changes in banking industry.
  1. Computer Knowledge (For IBPS PO)
Computer awareness is the only topic which is covered in bank exams therefore one needs to prepare for this subject. Only fundamental questions are asked. There are no questions asked from computer knowledge in SSC Exam.
Therefore it is advisable to choose the exam which you want to appear first and prepare accordingly. Both the exam preparation needs effective preparation.
