Most of the SSC Coaching institutes in Delhi are conducting classes for all the subjects such as General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and General Awareness. General Awareness carries 50 marks but it has a very vast syllabus. The overall weight-age is not more than 8 per cent i.e out of the total 700 marks (including tier 1+tier2+tier3) only 50 marks are allotted to General Awareness.

If one is having strong base of complex subjects like logical reasoning and maths, then one can ignore the thorough preparation of General Awareness section. In case we are not prepared to attempt this section we might lose 50 marks or maximum score in GA would be not more than 10. Every single mark counts to get a good rank in the merit list.
It is better if we manage to prepare it in the best way.  Let us discuss some tips to prepare General Awareness Section for cracking SSC CGL 2017-:

  1. Be selective in choosing the topics before starting your syllabus.
  2. Analyze the previous year papers and shortlist the topics having more weithtage in the exam.
  3. Buy one General Awareness book of a reputed author or publication and follow the same till the exam.
  4. 4. One can start from any topic of General Awareness such as History, Geography , Biology etc. It all depends upon your preferences and interest.
  5. 5. In case you start with biology, read and learn the following topics, questions on these topics are asked more: Human diseases, Human body systems (Circulatory, respiratory, skeleton, Liver, kidneys, brain, Eye), Plant and Animal Kingdom, Food and nutrition
  6. In Chemistry you can learn the names of the chemicals in relation to the common use.
  7. In Physics give more time to learn Common physical instruments, some important phenomenon’s like Total Internal Reflection, Refraction, Interference, Sound, Light, Motion, Fluid dynamics, Nuclear physics
